Hakone

This day ended up being quite a long travel day. We got up and took the local train about 40 minutes to Fukuyama, where we transferred to our Shinkansen. While we were waiting, the Hello Kitty Shinkansen stopped by, which was pretty cool. Since we were at a smaller stop, the express high-speed trains also passed by, which was pretty crazy (they didn’t seem to slow down much at all; they just came barrelling through the station)....

Today, we got up and ate a nice breakfast at the hotel, before taking a bus to Togendai station, where we got on a gondola, which took us over Mt. Hakone and to Gora Station (the ride was pretty relaxing, but due to the foggy weather we couldn’t see a ton; cool nonetheless). At Gora station, we got a hot dog as a snack and then walked to The Hakone Open-Air Museum, which was essentially a bunch of random outdoor art pieces (+ a few indoor exhibits)....
