Hakone → Tokyo

Today, we woke up earlier (~6:45 am) and headed to try out the public onsen at our hotel (so far, we had only used the private one included in our room). Since the baths are nude, they were separated by gender; Benton was alone in his and was entertained by the little stalls with benches to sit on while washing off. Lucy did briefly share her onsen with one other person, but for the most part, she was alone as well....

Last full day in Tokyo

When we were still in Osaka, we bought really nice grapes and two really nice persimmons. By now, we had finished the grapes but still had both our persimmons. We ate half a persimmon each for breakfast (super juicy), and then took the metro to Kiyosumi Gardens (a Japanese garden which was ~$1 to get in). We walked around the gardens a bit, taking some photos along the way (there were some fun pathways without rails across the water which were fun to walk across)....

Leave

Today, we still had a bit of time (our flight out wasn’t until 5:30 pm), so we woke up, finished packing (Lucy had to rearrange some items so that her suitcase would be under the weight limit), ate our final persimmon, ate some of our dorayaki, and then checked out (we left our luggage at the hotel for the day). Note: After eating the dorayaki, Benton realized that it was literally just bean paste in between two pancakes....
